Being healthy should be one of the top priorities of each individual. People go through life, oftentimes, pursuing their lifelong dreams, to become successful in their individual careers or go to places around the world, but they haven't taken heed on how to find ways to stay healthy as they go on about their everyday lives.
Others would reason that they are healthy because they do not get sick. They are happily pursuing their careers daily. They start their day with a cup of coffee for breakfast; take a hamburger and soda for lunch, a slice of cake for midday snack, and steak for dinner. Some would stay out late for a party or associate with clients, drink some wine or two, go home, get a short nap and after a few hours go to work again. This has become a kind of routine for many. They may be doing this for years, they see no chance of slowing down and they never get sick. This is a common scenario among many career driven individuals.
But pause for a moment and ponder on this, "Health is the state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease." This is the World Health Organization's definition of health. It is therefore imperative that it should become a priority for everyone.
Why, one may ask? Because a healthy individual who goes about their daily endeavors is one who performs their job well using all their bodily resources. They can give themselves to their work completely, that is, mentally, physically, socially and even spiritually. So career-oriented people should then follow the ways to stay healthy and maintain being healthy once they got it, because if they continue with their fast paced routine, their body would eventually complain about such neglect. The deficiency will not be apparent for now or maybe for a long time, but gradual changes take place inside the body and as the person grows older, the body's defense mechanism also dwindles and disease would show itself at the most inconvenient times.
How does one know if they have a nutritional deficiency? When a healthy and active person who goes about their daily life gradually notices small changes, like lack of zest in their work, thus, making their daily performance below par, they may be suffering from fatigue. Not being able to concentrate and focus more consistently, fatigue and tiredness can often overtake, therefore putting limitations on what could be achieved in their career. Because of this they could lose their chances for job promotions and left behind in taking advantage of new opportunities that comes their way.
It is therefore necessary that everyone, not just the career people, should continue to pursue the ways to stay healthy. They should embrace this path and use their good health as a tool in getting to the peak of success and excellence in their daily lives. This will also promote a good foundation for them to stay disease-free in times of flue epidemics and their body would appreciate this effort as it gets older each year.
