Height Insoles - How to Use Them Effectively
Sun, 13 Dec 2009

A great way to instantly add a couple of inches or more to your height is by wearing height insoles. These are thick rubber soles placed inside the shoe and can give you a boost of anything from 1-2.5 inches. In this article, we will look at height insoles and see how they can help you look taller.

First, let's start off by stating the obvious: these will not make you taller; they will just give the illusion of making you appear taller. When the shoes come off, you may very well have some explaining to do as everyone will suddenly find you a couple of inches or more shorter. Therefore, whenever using height insoles, exercise caution: don't go over the top with them, and keep them at a thickness that wouldn't be noticeable once missing (in other words, don't wear too thick insoles so that you appear ridiculously short once you've taken them off).

For insoles more than an inch thick, you may need to wear boots. Thick insoles in regular shoes push the heel out and can make walking almost impossible. In a boot, you can accommodate insoles more than 2 inches thick with ease.

If you combine height insoles with a pair of shoes with a heavy sole (1.5 inches or more), you can easily add 3-4 inches to your overall height. Be careful though: you don't want the shoes to have too thick an outersole as it could make you appear very conspicuous.

The best combination would be to wear height insoles with around 1.5-1.75 inch thickness in a shoe with a 1.5 inch thick sole. Thus, you get around 3 inches of added height without looking too conspicuous.
