The New Year is right around the corner and many of us are trying to put down on paper what our New Year's Resolutions are going to be. If being healthier isn't already on your list, then it is definitely something that you want to add to your list; after all, if you aren't healthy, how are you going to live long enough to be able to implement the rest of the items on your resolutions list? Being healthy encompasses lots of things in your life and so you really need to ask yourself a few key questions to determine what you need to add to your to do list for 2010.

Am I taking a daily multivitamin? Taking a daily multivitamin is important to the start of your day. You are probably not getting all of the vitamins and nutrients that you need in your life simply from the foods that you are eating. Taking a daily multivitamin is the jump start to your day. If you aren't taking one, then you aren't giving your body a fair chance to be ready for the day. Vitamins can help to promote your energy levels and help to keep you from getting sick by giving your body the resistance that you need.

Am I brushing my teeth in the mornings? This may sound silly, but there are quite a few people that don't brush their teeth adequately in the mornings. You should be brushing for at least 5 minutes and it is better to use a motorized brush than a standard toothbrush. The new brushes are able to do a lot more cleaning with less effort on your part. You should also be flossing in the mornings, scraping your tongue of plaque that has built up overnight, and gargling with some kind of mouth wash. Having a healthy mouth will prevent you from getting sick, as many germ causing bacteria start out in the mouth and spread to other parts of your body.

Am I drinking enough water? Water is one of the most important things that God put on this green earth. If you aren't drinking at least 2 liters a day, then you aren't drinking enough water for your body. Water is essential. In fact, it is one of the only things that you need to survive. So make sure that you are drinking plenty of it.

Am I eating balanced meals? Eating healthy is important. You need to be eating plenty of fruits and vegetables every day in order to be healthy. These are the things that are going to continue to give you energy throughout the day. Have you ever come back from lunch and tried to get back to work but felt heavy and tired? This is because you have eaten too many starches and not enough fruits and vegetables.

All in all, make sure you are living a healthy lifestyle in 2010. It will ensure that you have better chances of making it to 2011.
