Oral Yeast Infection Or Thrush
Tue, 08 Dec 2009

Both men and women can contract oral yeast infection or thrush. Oral thrush is an infection of yeast fungus so when there is an imbalance of the fungus, it can overtake the good yeast count and can multiply which then causes a mouth yeast infection. You will notice white thick patches coating on your tongue and the inner lining of your cheeks, and can have different thickness consistencies. It can be painful and aside from the awful or muted taste it can also have a burning sensation which you can feel even more when you have a hot drink.

It can also be contracted through making oral contact to an infected area. This is usually from the act of performing oral sex on someone who has a yeast infection. It can also be transmitted through any object that is contaminated. It can worsen after an antibiotic treatment which eliminates the good bacteria as well that keep the yeast culture in check. It can also occur for people who have compromised immune systems such as patients undergoing chemotherapy, infected with immunodeficiency virus, or using steroidal medicines. Diabetic patients have higher probabilities in getting yeast infections.

Few points to be aware of:

  • Sugar helps feed the yeast so limit the intake of sugary foods
  • Toothbrushes are notorious for keeping the yeast going and going and going - change your toothbrush everyday till your infection has cleared. Buy a whole package from the dollar discount store and keep healthy
  • Always seek medical attention to determine the course of medication in order to not compromise the body further
  • Prevention is the best cure
  • Ready to take the next step?
  • Take the Yeast Survey and Balance the Options.

Lack of energy, high stress, anxiety, weight problems, inability to focus, digestive trouble, allergies, can actually be a symptom of a yeast infection and in many cases, can come back even with expensive medication treatments. Give yourself the tools to end the pain and discomfort of an oral yeast infection.
