Hemorrhoid Home Treatment - Treating Hemorrhoids Using Home Remedies
Tue, 08 Dec 2009

Hemorrhoids are literally a pain in the butt. Resulting from the swelling of vascular veins in the inner rectal linings that get distended and protrude out into the anal area, hemorrhoids, even in its mild stage, cause pain when passing stools and even when sitting. There are no known cures. The only thing you can do about them is to treat the discomforting symptoms of itching and pain.

Causes
A lot of factors increase the risk of developing hemorrhoids. Hormonal changes that loosen the inner linings of the rectal muscles often caused by pregnancy and childbirth have been known to cause hemorrhoids in some women.

Obesity and diabetes are also known to cause it. But the most common cause is the frequent passing of hard stools that stresses these vascular tissues. Forcing a bowel movement when constipated is another. The early stages of hemorrhoids often come undetected unless there's bleeding and you see bright red spots on your stools in the toilet bowl.

These are internal hemorrhoids that, for many, can last briefly and will go away even without medication. But for others, they often progress to more severe cases where the internal rectal tissue lining gets inflamed and protrude out into the anal area. This can cause intense pain and discomfort.

Homebound Cures
Before it gets any worse, there are home treatments you can do that can help shrink and eliminate hemorrhoids or at least provide lasting relief from pain and itching.

You will need to get hold of some herbal substances like:aloe vera gel, black mustard seeds, witch hazel, peppercorns, ginger and some common house kitchen stuff like, yogurt, buttermilk, pomegranate, water, rock salt, sugar, petroleum jelly and cotton balls.

1. Mix some finely ground black mustard into a bowl of yogurt. Blend together well and eat, chewing the black mustard carefully. Take a glass of buttermilk thereafter and this concoction is known to treat hemorrhoid symptoms fast.

2. Alternatively, pour the finely ground black mustard into a glass of milk with 5 grams of sugar added. Mix well and drink ever morning. This is known to stop hemorrhoids from bleeding.

3. Put pomegranate peelings into a pot of water and heat the mixture to boiling point. Drink a glass of it every morning and evening to help relieve hemorrhoid discomforts and eventually eliminate them.

4. Put some peppercorns into a glass of buttermilk mixed with a pinch of rock salt. Drink this concoction twice daily to relieve hemorrhoid pains and eventually get rid of them over time.

5. Witch hazel is among the most potent herbal substance known to ease hemorrhoid symptoms. With a cotton ball, apply witch hazel to the anal area to relieve any pain or swelling.

6. Use petroleum jelly or aloe vera gel to lubricate your anal area when having a bowel movement. Try not to force a bowel movement as this can aggravate your hemorrhoids.

Some Recommendations at Home to Ease Piles
1. After each bowel movement, clean yourself gently using soft or moistened toilet or use those scented baby wipes so as not to induce more swelling when the hemorrhoid gets in contact with dry toilet paper.

2. Take a hot bath sitting with your knees up. The hot water will help soothe the hemorrhoids.

3. If pregnant, lie on your side when sleeping to take the pressure off from your bottom.

4. Overweight or obese people put more pressure on their bottoms to further aggravate hemorrhoids. So watch your diet.
