How to Get Rid of Toe Nail Fungus
Sat, 28 Nov 2009

Toe Nail Fungus will change the color and texture of your nails. It will also spread quickly to other toe nails, and can be quite embarrassing. Many people who deal with toe nail fungus are to embarrassed to have it looked at. Toe Nail Fungus is not due to bad hygiene, and there is no reason to get embarrassed. Our feet receive a lot of abuse, and if you walk around without socks or shoes on, it is not unlikely that you will pick up a fungus.

They don't wear sandals or go barefoot. Some women will hide the discolored toe nails with dark-colored nail polish. There are, however, things you can do at home to get rid of your toe nail fungus.

1. Tee Tree Oil. Use a Q-tip or cotton ball to apply tee tree oil to the infected areas at least twice a day until the fungus is gone. It will take at least a couple days. Tee Tree Oil can be purchased at most alternative healing stores and some body care stores.

2. Listerine. This option works quicker, but requires more of a commitment. You need to soak your feet in Listerine twice a day for twenty minute at a time. Keep doing that until the toe fungus is completely gone.

3. Rubbing alcohol. You can also soak your feet in rubbing alcohol twice a day for twenty minutes instead of Listerine. They both work to kill the fungus and stop the spread. Rubbing alcohol will be slightly less expensive than Listerine.

Vicks Vaopr Rub. The effectiveness of this option is debatable. While some swear by it, others dismiss it. Rub Vicks Vapor rub on the infected area everyday. Although it may not eliminate the nail fungus, it will certainly stop the spread of the fungus.
