If you have a problem with excessive sweating then it can be an extremely difficult problem to deal with. Not only is sweating excessively an annoyance but it can also be embarrassing - especially if you sweat while in cold places. The causes of excessive sweating can be quite varied although there are a few things that regularly crop up when trying to work out why someone sweats too much.
Fortunately, even if you have had excessive sweat problems for many years there are things you can do about it.
Most doctors think that the main cause of excessive sweating is genetic which means that you are either born with the problem or not. While this may be the case, there are things you can do to help your excessive sweating whether it is focal (only in specific places) or generalized (all over the body).
1. Exercise more and lose weight
Even though when people ask what causes sweating the common answer is "genetics" that doesn't mean you can't do something about it. The fact that a lot of people who have generalized excessive sweating problems are overweight shows that if you can put the effort into losing weight you'll sweat less and more controllable.
2. Drink More
Drinking more water is a good way of reducing the amount you sweat even though many people think it has the opposite effect! If you drink more your body will be able to keep cool easier and hence have less of a need to sweat.
These are two very basic things you can do to try and stop sweating excessively. The causes of excessive sweating are not well known at this time but the ways to help control it are. There are many more effective methods of reducing sweating that may be more applicable to you but these two techniques are a good place to start.
