Way to Good Health

Although many people have become conscious of their health. Still there is a vast majority of us out there, who are too busy or too lazy to do anything about their health till they get a rude shock in the form of High Blood pressure, Diabetes and High Cholesterol levels.

It is extremely difficult for a person working in this high stress environment with pressure to achieve targets, to have time left to do any form of exercise, you are already exhausted by the time you reach home. This problem is compounded by having junk food instead of a healthy diet.
When we are taking a bite of a Hamburger or a Pizza, health is the farthest thing from our mind. So, how do we manage in this kind of scenario, where one does not actually have any time for exercise or visits to the Gym.?

I am 51 years old and have been leading a similar type of life with some short stints in between when I could manage to squeeze in some exercise. But I have managed to stay Healthy with out any of the health problems.
I will outline some of the Things I have been doing to stay healthy.

Drink a lot of water. My day starts at 7:00 AM and by 8:30AM, when I leave for work I consume about 6 glasses of water. After that I can have a break of about 2 hours before I start feeling Thirsty again, my total water consumption on a hot day is about 4.5 liters, on colder days it is about 3 to 3.5 liters. This helps to wash out any Toxins that my body is producing in addition to keeping my blood thin helping in washing out any plaque buildup in the arteries.

Have 10 Almonds in the morning soaked in water for 24 hours. This keeps your brain active; helps retain memory and skin looking good.

Have moderate amount of food, never fill the stomach fully always stop when you still feel a little hungry, Brain receives the signal of a full stomach after 20 minutes. You have to start doing that gradually, till you get a good feel of it. When we feel that our stomach is full while eating food, actually we have filled the pouch of our stomach physically which amounts to overeating. It is believed that we can live longer and healthy if we never fill our stomach more than 70~80%

Snacks should be mostly fruits or vegetables if it can be helped. These days even the Fast food outlets are selling Salads; we can have that instead of a burger or grab an Apple.

Walk a little every time you get a chance or climb the stairs instead of taking a lift, when we have to go up 15 floors we can always walk up three floors before taking the lift. or park the car at a little distance from the office. Take the Tube, Metro or the Bus from the next stop or get down a stop before.
