2 Major Causes of Excessive Sweating - Part 1
Thu, 12 Nov 2009

So you're looking to find out what the causes of excessive sweating are eh? Today you'll discover 2 such causes that you can actually put an end to, and lead a much more comfortable life! Excessive sweating can really become a problem of the past for you. You only need to know how to make it as such.

Cause #1 - Alcohol

I am not sure if you already know this, but alcohol abuse is regarded as a major cause of excessive sweating. There is a lot of scientific research to back this up, and I do not intend to bore you with it. Instead, I'll cut to the chase and just give you the information you want.

Alcohol basically causes a substantial amount of heat to build up in your body. As a result, your veins tend to dilate, meaning that a lot more "heated" blood flows through them. When this happens, especially to your superficial veins (which are the ones very near your skin surface), your body knows that it needs to cool down. It knows that it's getting a tad too hot.

And how does the body kick-start it's cooling down process? By sweating of course! You have to note though, that alcohol can only be considered as one of the causes of excessive sweating when it is abused. This means that you're unlikely to sweat profusely if you are the type who only drinks once in a while. But, this also depends on your tolerance level. If you are not the strongest drinker, you might start sweating a fair bit even if you aren't the type who goes for drinks frequently.

That said, alcohol is definitely a cause of excessive sweating.

Cause #2- Smoking

You might be thinking: Wow, smoking causes just about everything! There's all sorts of cancer that comes about from it, miscarriages can occur because of it and even gangrene can be caused by it! And now there's hyperhidrosis! Will the list ever end? Probably not. Why? Because in each cigarette, there are more than 4000 chemicals in them (from rat poison and urine to preservatives for dead frogs). Pretty disgusting isn't it?

So it's no wonder that this too ends up become one of the front running causes for excessive sweating. But, one other reason for it being a cause is that results in there being an adrenaline rush in your body. This in turn builds up a great deal within you, causing your body to perspire.

And of course, as in the case of alcohol, smoking would only be a cause if you're a heavy puffer. Social smokers are unlikely to feel the effects of hyperhidrosis. But as I said earlier, this really depends on your tolerance levels.

So there you have it. These are 2 big causes of excessive sweating which you can easily avoid. You should definitely look to cure it right away!
