Want to Look Taller?
Tue, 10 Nov 2009

Do you want to look taller? Have all your attempts so far been futile? If you answered 'yes' and you don't look how you'd like to when you see your reflection in the mirror, don't be discouraged. Many of us who are not as tall as we'd like to be make mistakes with our clothing and this in turn only makes us appear shorter than we really are! Read on if you want to learn how to look taller, simply by changing your fashion style.

Good Health

Before we go into fashion however, let's talk briefly bit about bone health, since this directly affects how tall, or conversely how short, you are. It cannot be stressed strongly enough that you need to exercise regularly and give yourself a good diet throughout your life; otherwise you could in fact find yourself even shorter later on in life.

By having a poor diet during your vital (formative) years, you can actually stunt your growth. This is why it is vital for you to have a diet rich in protein, calcium, calories and amino acids, as well as other important nutrients, to allow your body to grow as much as it possibly can.

As we grow older, poor diet and a lack of exercise will only serve to make our bones weaker, which in turn makes them more prone to breaking. Worse still, low calcium levels can result in our bones actually shrinking as we grow older; so, maintaining a good diet will keep your bones healthy and strong and prevent this from happening.

Exercise, in the meantime, is very important if you want to look taller. When you are slim and toned, it is much easier to look taller; you've probably noticed yourself how heavyset frames tend to look even shorter still.

Fashion Do's

Now, if you want to look taller, let's discuss clothing. You need to look for darker, solid colors which will make you look more 'elongated' ie taller. Wear well fitting clothes. Vertical stripes (going down) are good. Small patterns on fabrics are okay. Make sure your trousers 'cover' your shoe and don't stop at the ankle! Wear shoes the same color as your trousers (and socks and nylons also). This gives the illusion of your legs being longer than they really are.

In addition, if you're able to add height with your hair (as in body on top, rather than a flat style stuck to your head), then this will also help you look taller. You don't want to be carrying around great big oversized bags, which only look ridiculous if you are smaller in stature; instead, carry smaller bags. Always err on the side of elegance and you will definitely look taller.

Fashion Don'ts

And now, what to avoid. Well, ideally you don't want to 'cut yourself in half' by wearing different colors on the top and bottom - this only makes you look shorter and possibly 'dumpy'. Much better to have one solid color which is much effective. Definitely do 'not' wear horizontal stripes - this is a killer. Don't wear huge patterns. Don't wear baggy clothing. Don't wear flat shoes or shoes in a bright color.

If you're truly serious in your desire to grow taller, don't just 'think' about it, do something about it! Ask yourself, would you be happier if you knew you could be taller? If the answer to that is 'yes', then click here to take your first steps towards your new life where you feel more confident, assertive and physically attractive.
