If you do not supply your body with the essential nutrients you will not be able to fight off diseases or develop your body muscles tissues. The body is usually able to synthesise its own nutrients although you are supposed to look for other sources in the dist you take since the body is not able to synthesise all nutrients. The most important nutrients for the development of your muscles are; carbs, fat, minerals and oils.

Proteins: the primary building blocks of the muscles are proteins are should therefore be taken in plenty. There are various sources of quality proteins such as, white eggs, chicken, red meat, beans and whey proteins.

Carbohydrates: carbohydrates are very important if you want to develop your muscles. If you do not increase your carbs intake you will not be able to train intensely since your body will lack enough fuel. Carbs provide calories which act as fuel for the body.

Minerals: If you want to develop your body muscles you need to take certain minerals. They will help you attain continual muscle development. The minerals include;

  • Folic acid - This is used in the formation and production of red blood cells in the body
  • Biotin - This mineral help fight against hair loss
  • Vitamin C - This is necessary for the maintenance of healthy bones, teeth and gums
  • Calcium - This is required for the formation of teeth and bones
  • Phosphorous - This works hand in hand with calcium. It must be properly balanced if its to be effective
  • Magnesium - This mineral is vital for maintenance of healthy bones, a healthy heart and a generally healthy tone.
  • Potassium - It is required to regulate the amount of acid and alkali in the blood
  • Sodium - this plays a crucial role in the balancing of acids and bases as well as regulation of body fluids
  • Sulfur - This mineral is necessary for healthy nails, skin and hair
  • Iron - This is a critical mineral required for the production and formation of hemoglobin which is used to transport oxygen in the body
  • Zinc - This helps in the rapid healing of wounds, repair of tissues and also sexual development

Fibre: You need to stick to a diet rich in fibre if you are to succeed in bodybuilding. There are various health benefits that a person enjoys when they take a diet rich in fibre since fibre helps improve the cardiovascular system as well as the digestive system of a person's body. Fibre also plays various other important functions in the body. If you are trying to lose weight you need to eat a diet which is rich in fibers. It has been noted that people who take fiber as part of there weight loss diet usually end up getting very good results since they are able to obtain fast and healthy weight loss. The reason is because when you take a diet rich in fiber you will end up consuming fewer calories.
