There are numerous advantages to being tall - that cannot be denied - both physical and emotional. However people of a shorter stature may not realize their are considerable disadvantages to being tall also. The following article attempts to outline some of the downside to being tall and set the scene for what us tall guys have to deal with on a daily basis. The number one problem has to be clothing for the tall person - Where to get clothes that fit correctly, what style of clothing suits a tall physique and what fashion accessories can and can't be worn. Top-tip - internet shopping is the way to go for buying clothes for the tall person.

Pet hates of mine are found in the home, things like bath tubs being too small and having your knees high up out of the water when taking your bath. Shower heads being too low is another major problem for the tall person in the home. I've taken countless showers bending down to fit in the shower. Many other household features lead to the tall person bending over which is not good for the posture and can lead to back pain and neck pain in time. Things such as kitchen worktop counters designed for the average height (about 5 foot 2 inches to 5 foot 9 inches), cause a person in excess of 6 feet tall to stoop and bend considerably in order to use this workspace. Things like a bathroom mirror being placed at a height on the wall to suit the average height again leads to stooping to see your reflection - I've spent much time stooping down to shave using a hotel mirror that's positioned too low on the wall. And I haven't even mentioned the number hate of all tall people.........small airline seats with very little leg room......and the number of times I've turned up at an airport early to request an exit seat, with extra leg room.

So you may think being tall is great and in general it is, but it's not all plain sailing, us tall guys have problems too!
