If you are an internet marketer, or a member of any other profession that requires little physical activity, there is one perhaps not so obvious fundamental that you need to pay particular attention to - your own fitness. Understand that sitting in front of a computer monitor for a large portion of your time - particularly if you have been active in the past - is not the ideal way to burn calories and stay fit. If you are not very careful, your fitness level and health will be adversely affected.
Keeping fit is sometimes made into a more complicated endeavor than it actually needs to be. In reality, the rules are simple:
- Get some form of regular exercise
- Consume no more calories than you burn
- Eat real, whole foods (ok you can indulge occasionally)
Granted, following these rules can be a challenge, but if you apply them consistently, you will remain fit. This in turn will have obvious benefits for your overall health.
So what about meal frequency, protein, carbs, fats, workout frequency and all that stuff? You can add additional rules concerning some or all of these if you wish. Just keep in mind that if you want to lose weight you must use up more calories than you take in. And, if you would like to build muscle, you have to exercise to get stronger. Sometimes following a diet plan or fitness program can give you a structure and routine to follow, but using one is by no means mandatory.
Though the above rules are all you need, part two of this article series will focus on a five step action plan that may provide additional help. Please keep in mind that this is just what has worked for me - I am certainly not a doctor or an expert on fitness.
Thank you for your time. See you at the next article.
