Blushing is a normal and natural reaction when someone is either feeling embarrassed or shy. However people who become aware of their blushing make the situation worse because it then takes on the form of a phobia. This phobia make the problem worse than it is because you are now afraid of blushing and in fact what is happening is that your blushing has become worse.

In order to understand how to stop blushing so much you need to know what causes blushing in the first place. Blushing is actually caused by dilation of very tiny blood vessels around the cheeks of your face. When you are embarrassed there is an increase of blood flowing to that area which results in a blush.

For people who suffer from blushing first need to consult a doctor to determine the real root of the problem. You can always do some research to find out the various causes of blushing but its only your doctor who can truly point you in the right direction.

There are a few things you can do to stop blushing:

1. You should limit your intake of alcohol as it can naturally cause people to blush. Not to mention the fact that it can also raise your blood pressure.

2. You should try to maintain a good comfortable temperature. If its cold then make sure that you dress warmly but not too warmly as that too can case you to blush.

3. You should also refrain from eating spicy foods as it can cause your cheeks to become red.

4. You can also listen to self hypnosis tapes that aim to target the trigger inside of your mind that causes blushing.

There are various ways you can deal with blushing but the best is not to try and control it. Seek medical help you need to.
