Headlice - Hope For Parents - There is a Killer!
Tue, 20 Oct 2009

As well as being a mother of five I've also worked in the pharmacy and health store industries for several years so I've seen my fair share of exasperated parents battling the head lice enemy! Many still saying how they have tried everything and nothing works! I am so glad to have found Neem oil, now the painful struggle with this problem is at an end for us and here's how I use and recommend killing and preventing Headlice & their eggs...a sure fire combination of 3 method...

1. Neem Oil as a treatment.
2. Neem Oil in water (with a little liquid soap) as a light spray for a leave-in prevention.
3. Regular combing with a long tooth metal nit comb on dry hair, also for prevention.

The Neem Tree (Azadirachta Indica) is native to India where it is reported that during the locust season swarms of insects ravage field after field of vegetation stripping it bare, that is except for this one plant..the Neem Tree... the only thing left standing! The question is WHY? Do the insects instinctively know what scientists have now discovered...that Neem Kills Insects!! India not only experiences the insecticide qualities of Neem but for generations they have referred to it as "The Cure All Tree". Reason being that not only is it nature's antidote for insect pests but also for problems of the skin and minor diseases.

Warning: when buying Neem Oil: We reccommend inspection of all ingredient lists associated with the "neem" oil ...some producers may dilute, add alcohol or even call it "Neem Oil " but have other oils mixed with it such as citronella, surfactants and lecitin. Buy only 100% Pure Neem Oil.

It's insecticide qualities see it effective against not only head lice and nits but also fleas, sandflies, mites, fleas, ticks, mange, flies, mosquitoes and can be used on people, pets, plants, livestock, garden beds, insect breeding places.

So far nine liminoids have demonstrated an ability to block insect growth, affecting a range of species that includes some of the most deadly pests of agriculture and human health. New limonoids are still being discovered in Neem, but Azadirachtin, Salannin, Maliantriol and Nimbin are the best known for now and seem to be the most significant.

Azadirachtin is one of the first active ingredients to be isolated from neem, it has proved to be the tree's main agent for battling insects. It appears to cause some 90% of the effect on most pests. It does not kill outright, not immediately. It both repels and disrupts their growth and reproduction beginning the process towards death. Research over the past 29 years has shown that it is one of the most potent growth inhibitors and feeding deterrents ever assayed. It will repel or reduce the feeding of many species of insect pests as well as some nematodes. In fact, it is so potent that a mere trace of it's presence prevents some insects from even touching.

Neem oil has been deemed safe for Humans, Animals, Birds, and Fish yet deadly to most insects.
