Painless Hemorrhoid Treatment is the Preferred Route
Tue, 20 Oct 2009

Most people would prefer to treat any illness with pain free methods. Generally, they would opt for non-surgical forms of treatment unless surgery was the only route to take. Painless hemorrhoid treatment is the ideal. Options are plentiful for this form of treatment. For internal hemorrhoids there is a form of treatment called bipolar coagulation. This form of treatment takes place by using a probe to suppress bleeding. Hemorrhoid arterial ligation is used with a device to insert a needle and make a knot to close off bleeding. With hemorrhoidolysis special waves are used to create a chemical reaction to allow for dissolving and shrinking tissue of the hemorrhoid.

For really small hemorrhoids an injection is used to shrink the hemorrhoid. The injection is inserted close to a hemorrhoid in the mucous membrane. Photo-coagulation is another painless hemorrhoid treatment that involves the use of infrared light to stop a bleed with this welding technique. One of the most common treatments is called rubber banding. This is more-so used for invasion of the anal canal and consists of closing off blood supply to the excess tissue and doing so with rubber band-like cord. After a few days the unwanted portion falls off. Super freezing is most commonly used to treat external hemorrhoids. It involves using cryogenics to freeze off the undesired tissue.

In addition to the prior methods that are used when an emergency situation or last resort is needed to treat hemorrhoids there are home based treatments as well. These are all painless hemorrhoid treatment options. Traced back to the ancient Egyptians it is no secret that healing and water were interconnected. Such is true for hemorrhoids. One of the nicest ways to treat hemorrhoid discomfort is a sitz bath. This is a warm bath that is about hip deep. Epsom salts may be added for swelling issues. Sitz baths should last for for 20 minutes, followed by a gentle toweling off. Sitz baths can be repeated as often as one desires.

Ice packs on the affected area for 10 minutes, followed by warm compresses for 20 minutes is another painless hemorrhoid treatment. Moist heat may also be applied as often as needed. For itching - don't scratch. There are witch hazel cloths and creams as well as hydro-cortisone creams. If a medicated cream is preferred then a doctor can be asked to write a prescription for a cream that ends in "caine." There are many options that have been covered and new information comes in frequently.
