If you work out of your home office, you still need to stay in shape, eat right, and consider that every time you have an urge to get up and go to the refrigerator that you are eating something that will not pack on the weight. It is widely known that people who work out of their home often gain a little extra weight. Many of them are working at the kitchen table, dining room, or just down the hall in a converted den or extra spare bedroom.
They are far too close to their food supply, and they are constantly taking advantage of that reality. It was recently noted in a survey, that the average solo professional that works out of their home believed they were 20 pounds overweight, and admitted to not having enough time to exercise. When asked what kinds of food they were eating, the answers which came back indicated that much of the food they were eating was not very healthy, and they work grazing all day long.
If this is something you are doing, you need to watch your weight, and have a plan and stick to it. Otherwise you will end up looking like a cow. One of the recommendations was to have healthy fruits and vegetables to snack on, and to eat smaller portions.
One of the worst things you can do is drink soda all day or have a glass of wine at three o'clock before you are done with your workday. There is no sense in starting happy hour 2 to 3 hours early just because you have a home office and you can. I sure hope you will please consider this, as your help is very important.
